FAQs

Digital technology can be a valuable in helping someone to live independently at home, even if they are experiencing health and care challenges. It can be used to support and supplement face-to-face care and also to prevent admission to a care home.

Cassius offers not just the technology but the information and intelligence to ensure people get the right care for their needs.

Cassius offers an end-to-end service and we can talk you through your needs, provide guidance and advice, and ongoing help and support.

In Suffolk, we also offer an installation service as well as the option to include monitoring and response on some devices.

Contact us if you would like to find out more.

We supply the equipment and should an incident arise, for example if the device is pressed, or a fall is indicated, we will alert your carer, nominated contacts or emergency services to assist 365 days per year, 24 hours per day.

If required, our fully trained responders will be able to assist you or your loved one in the event of an emergency. We will liaise with you and your contacts to establish if you would like it to be part of your care plan - and to be notified upon activation. This service is useful for people whose family live out of their area and they want the reassurance that help is at hand when needed.

You can pay quarterly or annually.

Your package price varies for different products and will be calculated within the web shop. It can include recurring costs (like licenses or SIM cards). A direct debit will be created to cover these costs.

If you are purchasing the equipment outright as a one off it is yours to own.

Alternatively if you are purchasing a monthly subscription package, you will pay an upfront deposit and the equipment will need to be returned at the end of the contract period, where the deposit will be released back to you.

Technology can be funded as part of a local authority care package however, this involves a needs assessment to determine whether or not you qualify for support. You will need to contact your local social services department, which will arrange an assessment to determine your eligibility.

Cassius is a Digital Care Partnership between Suffolk County Council, technology company Alcove and change management consultants Rethink Partners.

Anyone can purchase Cassius devices, however, some services are currently only available in Suffolk.
